Week In Review:
August 22, 2025
On The Ground
In last week’s Searchlight, we cited that 65% of executives polled at the end of 2024 were open to new opportunities in 2025. A staggering statistic, to say the least, when companies are so reliant on their teams to execute.
Motivating factors range, but one trend is compensation. 32% of respondents cited
compensation as a primary reason for wanting to switch roles. Our hunch is that executives are using compensation as a proxy for how well the company is doing, and by extension, the strength of its leadership. Or they are just much more attuned to what they should be paid for the value they deliver. (We’d like to think our annual Compensation Study has something to do with that!)
Compensation aside, Mission / Product and Team round out the Top 3 factors for each function.
Access our report to learn these motivators break down for various functions.
