On The Ground
Not long ago, newcomers like Omada, Aledade, and Hinge Health were the scrappy newcomers, convincing early-adopters to take a bet on their model of care. Fast forward a decade: those same players are now treated as authorities. What’s changed, is that these same teams learned a lot of lessons along the way and they were able to staff for success with experts who could make an impact.
In the early days of a company’s trajectory, teams rely on hustle and perseverance. Today, those same teams rely on ready-made expertise to push the company forward. Digital health now has an “old guard” - the are less frequently staying out in front by taking bets on unproven leaders. Meanwhile, an entirely new crop of innovators are rising to challenge the status quo, and while they are still fueled by hustle and perseverance, they’ve taken the learnings from those who came before, and are indexing for experience. Across not just executive, but also mid-to-lower levels, companies are hiring for credibility and readiness.
