On The Ground
In its new report on the state of digital health funding, CB Insights points out that funding rose to $7.4B in Q1 2026 (up from $5.9B in Q4 2025), and is largely concentrated around AI and data. Rounds of $100M+ across 19 deals accounted for 60% of all funding, which is the highest share in recent quarters.
Hiring is equally as concentrated. Healthcare AI model developers spiked their headcount by 58.5% YoY (#1 on the list). The remaining Top 10 is mostly populated by AI, tech, and data-driven companies, with the lowest market being at 20%. Services companies barely make the list with longevity clinics, the sole tech-enabled services market, dropping in at #3.
The report further breaks down multiples for valuation on a per employee basis and despite what one might think regarding the high valuations of the aforementioned markets, none of the leaders there make the Top 10! In fact, companies like Pomelo Care ($4.6M / employee) and Midi ($1.7M) easily make the list.
We highly recommend digging into the data, which you can access here.
